Sometimes it is easier to see someone else’s shoes in the middle of the floor.
Questions to Ponder:
How many times have you been able to point out someone else’s shortcomings, while overseeing your own? It may even be that you both share similar shortcomings or issues, but you can see theirs better than your own.
Maybe the next time you are assisting someone who is close to you, you not only share your wisdom, but look at what you are saying and apply it to yourself! We all can grow from seeing our own “shoes” in the middle of the floor.

Karen this short message just spoke volumes to me. I am struggling to adjust to my 73 year old mother living with my husband and I. Reading these words tonight helped me see that I have been doing that very thing. Only seeing her shoes in the middle of the floor. Truth be told, my shoes are laying on the floor of every room. I plan to take this suggestion and stop seeing the flaws and shortcomings of a woman who taught me so much and at the same time clean my own floor of the debris and unfinished projects that I so often neglect. Kim, thank you for sharing your own reflection found within this message. Change and adjusting are not always easy and often rather difficult. They make us stretch in ways previously conceived as unfathomable. Yet, there is always a greater picture to what we notice as just lying on the floor and being in the way, but an opportunity awaiting to expand our viewpoint and to evolve in exponential ways.
